ACTS program

Geert Verbong is project leader of the program "creating long term support for hydrogen: the role of visons, funded by the ACTS-NWO Sustainable Hydrogen". The aim of this program is to get insight in the role of visions (expectations and promises) in the process of technological change, the assumptions used to create visions and the options to influence this process in order to increase the chances for the large scale introduction of hydrogen and fuel cells.

TAG program

Frank Geels, Johan Schot and Geert Verbong are project leaders of the research project Historical and future transitions in agriculture and food. This 2-year project is funded by Transforum Agro and Groen (TAG), a government-sponsored program that explores transitions to sustainable agriculture. Two universities are involved in this research project: TSS-group and Wageningen University. The research project consists of four sub-projects.

NWO-Novem program

Geert Verbong heads the research program “Transitions and transition paths: the road to a sustainable energy system”. This program is funded by the Dutch research council and Senter/Novem, set up to encourage the cooperation between social scientists and engineers and natural scientist in the energy domain. The program consists of 4 projects, two of which are performed by the System Innovations and Sustainability Transitions (SI&ST) group.

KSI program

The TSS-group is one of the leading partners in the KSI-program (Knowledge Network on System Innovation). Johan Schot is one of three directors of the KSI-Foundation (besides Jan Rotmans and John Grin). Schot is also Course Director for the PhD winter school, which is organised yearly. KSI is a 20-million euro national research program that is co-sponsored by the Dutch government and participating institutions (www.ksinetwork.nl). Transitions to a sustainable society form the main topic.
